And IIIIIIIIIIII-E-I will always love youuuuuuuuuu!
I recieved some very sad news today.
Love of my life, owner of a fantastically perfect beard and probably the only Greek-Canadian that will ever have a tiny piece of my heart has cleared waivers and been outrighted to AAA-Nashville.
Yes, boys and girls, George Kottaras is gone.
Wearing his shirt in silent protest will prove futile as it will take a small miracle (or large injury) to clear a roster spot if he were to ever return.
Sure, I could hope for Wil Nieves to bite it hard, statistically or physically, but I don’t want the Brewers to take a hit just so I can see George play. I suppose I could just wait for September call-ups and hope that #16 has thrown out enough minor-league base runners to have his name called.
But why hope?
I hoped Nieves would be the one to go and look where that got me. Nowhere but wallowing in my sorrows that that fit, tanned, Greek god won’t be stepping up to the plate in the Majors anytime soon.
It’s a sad day, for sure. But I won’t let it get me too down.
Afterall, Ryan Braun signed a nice contract extension, the Brewers have started to barrel towards the top of the standings and there is a crapload of baseball to be played.
I mean, yes, I’ll have my mourning period but I’ll be back to my old self in no time.
But the second Nieves starts to go downhill, don’t forget: I’ve always been pro-George.
Go Brewers!
Having gotten to see george in both Pawtucket and Boston I am sad to see george go as well he’s a steady major leaguer he’s too good to be down for long
